Throughout my whole life, I have spent considerable time finding my own place in the world. Over the years, however, I've come to realise that pluralism and diversity are intrinsic aspects of human nature: attempting to adhere to a single worldview may then lead to the alienation and neglect of other parts of ourselves. This insight guided me into my heterogeneous academic path, starting from Philosophy, moving to Neuroscience, Clinical Psychology and eventually Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy.
For the same reason, during my psychotherapy specialisation, I decided to deepen many different approaches: Schema Therapy and Mindfulness overall, yet Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy (MIT) as well. My journey carried me to psychiatric wards and clinics for Borderline inpatients where I encountered individuals carrying burdens heavier than I could have ever imagined. Their stories of struggle reshaped my understanding of Trauma, making me aware about how past sorrows and fears continually resurface in the present, chaining us to our memories and hindering our ability to freely desire and shape our own future. To help unlock these chains, I then pursued the training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), focusing on its applications in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Dissociation.
In 2023, I bid farewell to my professional practice in Italy and moved to Berlin, pursuing a long-held dream, perhaps driven by my perpetual (at times unbearable!) desire to expand my perspective on the world once more.
My Approach
Such a choice to broaden my repertoire of therapeutic approaches stems from the desire to provide a therapy that is truly centered on the unique characteristics of the individual before me. Every individual's story is a unique tapestry of emotions and experiences: together, we will explore these narratives, starting with your life story, followed by a deep dive into the roots of your painful emotions and symptoms, which often emerge as a well-intentioned attempt to care for ourselves, even though they may inadvertently cause more suffering than relief. Subsequently, we will collaboratively develop a therapeutic plan and I will suggest some of the aforementioned perspectives based on my understanding of you, leaving you complete freedom to choose the approach that resonates with you the most.
