Therapy is the first step towards changing attitudes of mind to change your life. Ultimately, it helps restore your connection to YOU with ripples of deeper connection with others. Successful outcomes often are marked by you feeling less alone and more present for the life you have worked so hard to create. It is possible to move through life's ups and downs with ease and curiosity, instead of being stuck in known habit patterns which are no longer serving you well.
Our work together would take us deeper into your unique, lived experience. I firmly believe that your true, authentic self is within you all along. My goal is to help identify and remove the barriers along the way.
My therapeutic lens is first and foremost informed by my own experience as a woman of color and an expat in America and Germany. Our early childhood experiences of mainstream education, metrics for success, agreeableness, fitting-in, sacrificing self-expression in favor of the "whole" can lead to learned helplessness, loneliness, low self-worth, poor communication skills, depression, anger and resentment towards long standing structures of hierarchy, colonisation and race inequality. I use evidence based methodologies of Coherence Therapy and memory reconsolidation in conjunction with attachment theory to get to the root of your anxiety and fears. I am a fierce advocate of neuro-plasticity: the brain's power to take in new information and transform in ways previously out of reach.
Confidential virtual therapy is easier than ever: Just pop in your earbuds and open your laptop. I am also available for in-person sessions here at Mittelweg 50 on Tuesday evenings 3p-9p and Wednesday mornings 9a-3p.
