About Elise

Hi, I’m Elise and I am a clinical therapist trained and educated in the US. For over a decade, I dedicated my life in Philadelphia to counselling individuals in a community mental health organisation. In 2021 I began living abroad in Brussels and now Berlin. Since becoming an expat myself, I’ve worked with organisations devoted to counselling those who live away from their home countries.

I have the privilege in my career of working with diverse populations. My specialisations include those living with and affected by chronic illnesses, people with substance concerns and the LGBTQIA+ community. Through this work, I have honed my skills in cognitive behavioural techniques and motivational interviewing. These therapeutic methods form the foundation of my practice, empowering you to make desired behavioural changes and gain mental clarity.

My approach is inherently client-centered. It is a collaborative, empathetic, and goal- oriented process that enhances your self-discovery and self-actualization journey. We will delve deep into your thoughts and feelings, uncovering the motivations and desires driving your actions. We will work to reframe your thoughts and life experiences so they empower you and not hold you back. This will help you recognize and overcome obstacles and foster self-efficacy - your belief in your ability to affect positive change.
