About Matías

I gained my experience as a clinical psychologist in Argentina, where the University of Buenos Aires provided me with a deeply rooted psychoanalytical framework. Coming from a country in which urgency often characterizes the mental health service, I developed as a psychologist dealing with cases related to trauma, attachment, anxiety and drug abuse. Working among different institutions provided me with an interdisciplinary framework experience, which I strongly believe enriches the perspective that accompanies the person in his or her individuation. These axes have shaped the construction of my individual practice.

From a Jungian Psychoanalytic perspective, I propose an approach where looking into the deeper and often darker aspects of the mind rather than the persona presented to the outside world is essential. As well, I consider relevant building empathy with the client’s conflicts and creating a meaningful project which can lead to an authentic life.

I believe that suffering finds its origin and meaning both in an individual and collective way. Following this belief, and through working on treatments in group settings, I trained to become a drama actor and developed a theatre workshop program. From that training, I took part in creating and performing a theatre play involving drug abuse patients and professional drama actors. This experience has enriched my work perspective, in which an artistic point of view tends to offer new ways to look into oneself's symptoms: trauma, attachment, addictions or existentialist crises.
